Mindy Your use of color and the depth of the wax is amazing. Are you really going to able to do this at home? You need to find find a place to exhibit your work beyond the show we went to. One that shows artists not only in college but across the lifespan

It amazes me-you still, after all these years, have kept the part of yourself, the artistic, inspiring, your true self of who you are when no one is around, before kids and such responsibility. I know you feel you haven't but your artwork shows you you have. I miss the time when i considered myself an artist. I take awesome pictures of my children, but i need to photograph for me in solitude and nature.

You have so many mediums in which to express yourself, now that the school year is here maybe you will have more time to explore them.

Lov ya.

btw hey slug

Hot wax works, indeed! You already know I love them- especially the beach landscapes. I hope you get to work in encaustics again (I'm not sure if my syntax is right there- oh, well!)

Thanks, Ben. Actually, what I used wasn't toxic at all, but maybe you could enlighten me on what exactly was toxic at one point... maybe it was the lead in the paint.

Bravo! Fantastic work. Just wonderful. The pieces are great. I can't get over all the color variance in the textures. Thank you for finally sharing these!

Out of curiosity, I have heard that Encaustic processes are very old and can be extremely toxic. How has the process changed? Have artists removed (or have they?) the dangers? And how so?
